Lest We Forget
In Silence
Daily, we are bombarded with noise and commotion that demands our attention.
There is little time to think.
But if we were to consider the wars in our past
and spend time reflecting on the conflicts in our present,
would we be able to avoid future bloodshed or strife?
Would be we able to make the world safer for our children?
Today, we remember the lives of those who died to give us a future.
We honour them with our silence.
We are still.
We are quiet.
Indeed, what is there to say?
Words are hollow sounds; inadequate, imperfect, distracting.
