Reg discusses his name options with some friends

The Old Girl was talking to a friend the other day and he mentioned that the name ‘Cameron’ means ‘crooked or bent nose’.

Don’t tell Cameron Diaz.

Anyway, it set me thinking. What does my name mean? And actually, what is my name? Is it Reginald or is it Reg?

I had a look on a names website MeaningofNames.com and found that Reg is the diminutive of Reginald: Mighty counselor-ruler. Form of Reynold. The name Reg orginated as an English name.

So, I’m a mighty counselor-ruler.
And then, I found that I have more options. I don’t have to be Reginald or Reg, I could in fact be:
Reginhard – Mighty and brave
Reginheraht – Mighty or intelligent
Regenweald – Strong
or
Regenfrithm – Peaceful raven
They are all quite magnificent names although I’m not sure why Reginheraht is mighty OR intelligent, when Reginhard is mighty AND brave.
But it’s better than finding my name describes a twisted part of my anatomy.
So, which name should I choose?
What do you think?
Hm, this is going to take a bit of thought.
I shan’t ask the Old Girl though as I’m not very sure she’s good at selecting names. The heroine of her ebook is called ‘Daffodil’. Interestingly, ‘Daffodil’ really is a name, according to the Meaning of Names website and is found in France. Anyway, if you want to read about an English Daffodil, you’ll find her in ‘Daffodil and the Thin Place’ which you can purchase here  from the Muse it Up Publishing website or from your favourite ebook retailer.
