Reg’s Dlog
Well, finally, the Old Girl has allowed me a bit of space on what I now think of as MY dlog to tell you about the final part of my Turkish holiday which was spent in Istanbul. You will be forgiven for forgetting about my Turkish holiday as it happened so long ago now, I’ve almost forgotten – but the reason I wanted to do the final part is that it’s about the friends I made – and friends are important. Especially friends from other cultures. How else can we appreciate each others point of view, if we never meet anyone with a view different from our own? Of course, you only have to look at the Old Girl and me. We have widely different views – look at the last post in my dlog. But we get on well. And it’s even more interesting if new friends come from other countries.

Sheep loose in Istanbul

Anyway, just check out my first friend. I promise you, this was in Istanbul. What a beauty! A beautiful what, I’m not sure, although I think she’s a sheep. You may remember from a previous post where the Old Girl and Young ‘Un rescued some goats or possibly sheep that I’m not too sure of the difference but I think her tail is down, so that would indicate she is a sheep. Although with her eye for fashion, a downward pointing, orange tail may just be more chic than an upward tail which would indicate she’s a goat. I’m also assuming she’s a she. The clue was the necklace, but again, what would I know? Anyway, I envied her confidence as she strolled about the streets. Perhaps I’ll dye my hair orange.

Cats in Istanbul

And here are some more friends. Now, I’m not usually partial to cats but these weren’t the usual spitting, hissing and scratching variety. In fact, I suspect they may have had a night out on the tiles as they were both so sleepy but they were pleasant enough.

Buskers

And here are some talented friends entertaining an audience.

141022Kas255The last photo is obviously not of friends. But I liked it and this will probably be the last post about Turkey, unless I’m lucky enough to go again, so I put it in anyway. I’ve included it for those of you who love shoes. And apparently, there are many of you. As a dog, I can’t see the appeal but what would I know? Anyway, if you do love shoes, feast your eyes on these. I’m sure you’ll find a pair to please.

And if you don’t, never mind. With the money you would have used to buy the shoes, you can always make the Old Girl happy and buy her ebook ‘Daffodil and the Thin Place’. All profits from the ebook will go towards St. Nicholas Church, Laindon with Dunton, Essex. It’s a beautiful ancient church set on top of a hill and as it dates from the 13th century it needs a lot of money to maintain it.

So, is it to be shoes or ebook? Ebook or shoes? Well, I’ll leave it up to you. Oh, by the way, you can get ‘Daffodil and the Thin Place’ here on the Muse It Up Publishing website, or on any major ebook retailer.
