Having seen Princes Charles and his two sons last Thursday at the Invictus Games, it reminded me of the last time I saw Princes William and Harry. It was about 26 years ago and my son had just been born in the same hospital as Fergie had just given birth to her first daughter. My son was born two days after Princess Beatrice and from my bedroom window, I could see the people who came to visit her, although it was often hard to see who they were from the top of their heads! Photographers were camped outside the hospital snapping all Fergie’s visitors and the clicking of their camera shutters gave me lots of warning that a royal visitor had arrived.

Princess Diana came with her two sons and I managed to photograph her from above. Sadly, that was the only time I ever saw her.

The following day I saw Fergie and Beatrice leave the hospital, although I didn’t manage to get a photograph. She ran across the road to say hello to the photographers, before taking Beatrice home.

It was quite exciting being in the same hospital as royalty but nowhere near as exciting as having just given birth to my son!

In my ebook ‘Daffodil and the Thin Place’, Daffodil is in the strange position of having lived during Queen Elizabeth II’s reign as well as Queen Victoria’s reign. To find out more, click here to go to the Muse It Up Publishing website. All proceeds from sales of the ebook will go to the renovation and upkeep of St. Nicholas Church, Laindon with Dunton, Essex.
