Reg’s Dlog (Well, what else would you call a dog’s blog?)
As promised, I’m going to let you know what my friend Northy and I got up to earlier on this week. He came to stay for a few days and on Tuesday, we went to St. Nicholas Church, to the Mums’ and Toddlers’ group – St. Nicholas Nippers. We got there early and tested some of the toys that had been put out for the children.
While the Nippers were playing in the main church, I showed Northy the history stuff. We went in the wooden annexe that used to be the Priest’s House and later was a charity school. I told him about the toilet in the cupboard with the round hole in the door and he insisted we try it out. The hole, not the toilet, of course. The cupboard is now full of brooms and other stuff. We both tried to squeeze through the hole. Lckily the Old Girl was there as it was a long way to the floor and she came in handy dragging us out of the hole. We were only slightly stuck. Honest.
Anyway, after a good telling off, we sat in the corner, in front of the fire. It’s in the fireplace which used to be a bread oven, many years ago. In the Old Girl’s ebook ‘Daffodil and the Thin Place’, Amelia lies unconscious just where we were sitting, in front of the fire. I told Northy, but he said that since Amelia is just a fictional person, he wasn’t sure it counted as history. I suppose he’s right but once he’s finished reading ‘Daffodil and the Thin Place’, he may change his mind. There was a slight difference of opinion but luckily the Old Girl managed to separate us. She said we’d been more trouble than all the Nippers put together, who apparently had all been angels.
Don’t forget to get your own copy of the ebook ‘Daffodil and the Thin Place’ and read about what happened to the unconscious Amelia. Did Daffodil manage to rescue her? Well, of course she did! But I’m not going to tell you how. Anyway, you can get your copy here from the Muse it Up Publishing website or from your favourite ebook retailer. All profits from the book will go to St. Nicholas Church, Laindon with Dunton to help to maintain the historical building. And if the Old Girl ever writes a sequel, it’s handy to have the actual building there.
