Dangerous Alphonse, the dancing chicken and me

Dangerous Alphonse, the dancing chicken and me

Hi Reg here. I just thought I’d introduce you to a few of the friends I made on my recent holiday to Turkey.

The staff in the hotel were very friendly and as I spent quite a lot of time at the bar, I soon got to know some of them and I can tell you, they were all characters!
If you’ve never danced with a chicken, I recommend you add it to your list of things to do before you die.

At first, I was rather wary of Alphonse. Well, after a message like he’s holding, you can’t help but be slightly nervous. But I have to say, he mixed a mean cocktail. “Monsieur Reg,” he used to say, “permit me to mix you a little something you won’t forget in a hurry…”

Here’s a photo of me after one of his cocktails that I’m sad to say I have forgotten it, although the chicken did fill me in on some of the details but I think it’s best that little episode is completely forgotten. I think Alphonse made something for the angels that they wouldn’t forget either, judging by the photo.

It’s good to get to know the locals when you’re on holiday although the language difference didn’t really help me, but I tried my best. I think Alphonse may have got to my new chum first with one of his concoctions as he also seemed to nod off.

Reg and the Bathroom Cherub

Reg and the Bathroom Cherub

The cherub in the bathroom was quite a lively chap, which surprised me because I would have thought being a bathroom cherub was quite a lonely job. I must admit, I never quite got to the bottom of the purpose of a cherub in a bathroom but I’m not one to look a gift horse in the mouth. If someone provides me with a bathroom cherub, well, I’ll enjoy him to the best of my abilities.

Here’s something for you to enjoy to the best of your abilities, if you like. No, I don’t know where you can get a bathroom cherub but I do know where you can buy a copy of the Old Girl’s ebook, ‘Daffodil and the Thin Place’. You can get it here from the Muse It Up Publishing website and from all good ebook retailers. All profits go to St. Nicholas Church, Laindon with Dunton, Essex, where the story is set. #MuseItUp #DaffodilAndTheThinPlace
